Discussion on making open source technology work for digital public infrastructure
This roundtable will engage participants on practical steps for ensuring that digital public goods are a sustainable viable option for digital public infrastructure, so that they can deliver long-term benefits related to lowering costs, promoting local workforce development, and increasing transparency. Using the DPG Charter as a reference framework, participants will discuss how to scale the use of open-source technology to create safe, inclusive, and trusted digital government systems that empower individuals, communities, and the private sector. This effort, if done right, will drive benefits across the SDGs, promoting health, education, food security, and climate change mitigation outcomes, among others. The DPG Charter provides a vision and commitment framework for #DPGsforDPI within digital transformation efforts, and is endorsed by over 20 leading entities from private sector, government, and civil society.
