How technology could help to save lives during crisis
The session will present the initiatives currently conducted by UNDRR, ABU/WBU and ITU-T in the field of technologies and learning experience that could help in preventing disasters, in reducing effects of natural and human provoked disasters and DRR.

The Moderator, Giacomo Mazzone – senior journalist expert in DRR, sustainability and climate change, SG Eurovisioni- will discuss of these topic in a conversation with Jeannette ELSWORTH, Chief, Communications, Advocacy, Knowledge Management and ICT at UNDRR, the UN branch in charge of preventing disasters; and with Mrs. Mythili MENON, project officer, ITU-T.

The key words for this conversation will be : Climate change and how to tackle it / reduce its consequences through technology; Early Warning Systems, How to bring the right information/alert to the concerned users in the shortest possible time.
